1/2" heater hose spring clamps are to loose

70 Dart small block new heater hose nipple new gates hose and new spring clamps kit from Layson's the clamps for the 1/2 hose are to big can slide them right on the hose with your fingers with very little resistance they are red in color tried a different manufacturer hose same issue are there any that fit the hose??
 
I thought that the heater hose were 5/8"

Will anyway, I use the Gates Power Gripe heat shrink bands
For the heater I use #32924 15/16" to 1 1/16" range or,
#32922 is 15/16" to 13/16"
What is the OD of the hose you are using?

I saw another post about this last year. Apparently the new heater hose has a thinner wall. If you are talking about spring wire style clamps, I had to get mine from McMaster Carr. Not very expensive either. www.McMaster.com
 
I love McMaster Carr. I buy a of of stuff from them for work. I've never received any junk from tools to fasteners. Always good quality stuff and super easy to work with. Although, not the cheapest solution sometimes.
