My rear servo popped out a while back so I replaced the retainer with a billet piece. While I was at it (LOL) I put in a new valve body and 3200 stall converter both from A&A Transmission. ....

I have up in the air, wheels off the ground and when I put it in reverse, the wheels are going forward, not reverse...

What should I look for before I pull it and put it on the bench...???

Thanks

Jeff

If the manual valve is adjusted properly it sounds like the rear band isn't applying. Do all forward gears work properly?
I'm gonna pull the pan this morning and double check the rear band adjustment and look at the rear servo again. ....

It turns out it's the lip seal is broken on the rear servo. ...

I don't think I can fix it in the car...

On a 727 if you take out the valve body and remove the tail shaft to remove the rear band lever.....you probably change out servo

Ok, yes u can. Remove the valve body. Loosen of the lock nut, u screw the adjuster bolt till it’s flush with the mount. U will see the little flat strut up in there. U need 2 screw drivers to get it out. 1 to push on the lip of the band Upwards and a longer skinny 1 to pry out the strut. Then the arm will fall down. Press up the retainer and remove the snap ring and servo. Yes it will be a bit of a struggle if u have the big spring in there from a shift kit as I believe u do. Watch for flying fluid. When installing put the servo on a bit of an angle and rotate kit while pushing it in. It’s a little frustrating but better than pulling the tranny. Kim

I guess I'll try that first...tomorrow morning.
As I recall, that little strut was a total PITA.....

I'm really not looking forward to pulling the transmission again. ...
Really think it can be done in the car huh?!

Obviously the seal on the rear servo was toast...
Had to pull the valve body the remove the rear band strut. ...not bad at all...maybe 3 hours start to finish and transmission is working great!

Gonna give it a bit of a shake down drive this morning. ..
