What's the consensus on burnouts?

-
See the Camaro video up there ^^^^^^? Just imagine how that would have gone if that tire had hit a person instead of the car. Meat wagon.
I remember that. Happened quite a few years ago. That's part of the problem, you never know the integrity of everyone's cars.

The Mopars4us group wants to do some burnout video's and I would like some thoughts on the subject.

Do you think it's a good idea to involve the local PD in this?
The PD here knows my car well (in a good way) as they have stopped and asked about the car and have been genuinely interested, with two of them recently showing me pictures of their own personal hotrods and classics.
We would like a legal place to smoke em without pissing them off, so I feel it might be a good idea to involve them.
I was thinking to just go park at the PD station and see who shows interest in the Dart and ask them about it.
I grew up in a multi generational law enforcement family, and was an MP on a training base in my other life, so I'm not intimidated by them and know how to relate to that personality type.:D

So then the next question...
What kind of burnout video's do you like best?
1. Stand stills with closeups of one wheel full screen.
2. More distance showing the whole vehicle?
3. Fry em pulling away?
4. Smokey Donuts?
5. All the above?
Or?

Appreciate opinions on both of these.
Thanks

MY SELF , NONE , TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND TIRE , PROOVES NOT A DAM THING TO ME !
I WOULD PREFER MINE TO START HOOKING UP AND LEAVE !!

Wiped out a fence in high school smokin' em lol..... Put a kid or someone who isn't in the know about making some smoke and put a smile on their face.....

Around crowds, not for me. At the track, longer the better if your setup allows it and you have a bankroll. It's all about having fun....

Gees, you don't have to yell at me.:D
I'm not all about it myself, but viewers are.

Nah, no crowds at all, but just a couple of us out of town somewhere most likely.
I mentioned having a deserted fairgrounds area with a huge parking lot not far from my house and a few miles outside of the town limits.
Right now I'm thinking it will probably be there.

Thanks for this trip down memory lane. I can remember just like yesterday my Great goddaughter hysterically laughing laying down rubber. What a great time in my life.... In fact, I would be game for this. But only if I had a co-pilot who has never got to experience something like this. Betcha I can make a carhead when i'm done lol....

Thanks,
JW

The last non wimp vehicle I had was a 69 Roadrunner 440 Police motor about 40 years ago.
(My oldest kid is about 40 so you can get the correlation there)
I feel like I'm free again now. :D

It's good clean fun.
be safe, smart, and watch those fences lol... My neighbor who is a retired cop would probably jump at the chance to act a fool' in a car...
You have been free all along. Go hang it out there a little and make some smoke.

Burnouts arent really my thing I'm more of a hook and go type person lol. I see guess doing burnouts on the street and I always of how stupid and reckless it is. In a controlled setting they are ok but still a waste of tires lol. I would most definitely involve the pd and do it in a controlled area where no other cars can be damaged if something goes wrong that could be a big lawsuit if a bystander gets damaged vehicle or even worse injured
Now wait just a damn minute. Since when are you again' burnouts? LOL Wasn't this you trying to talk me into burning down an old set of dry rotted tires?

Haha I cant believe you scrolled all the way back to September 2018 just to prove me wrong :poke::rofl: I'm not against burnouts in a controlled setting or if you have throw away tires anyway but on the street with other cars and people is reckless and dangerous just YouTube mustang's

Oh sure, that I remember. Can't remember what the hell I had for breakfast though. LOL
My head is full of all kinds of useless ****.
My father-in-law once said you have to get up pretty early in the morning to get over on ole Dan-o.

No one is going to be close enough for anything like that to happen, but I get your point.
My camera's have remotes, so no need for anyone to be around the vehicles when on video.
When you have already had one heart attack and the doctors tell you you're very likely in for more that could kill you it changes your perspective on how you want the rest of your life to go.

I'm not against doing it. I think you've misjudged me. I'm all for it. Just be careful. Take precautions.

Involving the cops is just wayyyy over thinking it and getting more people to "look at me"

Most of my best burnouts were not planned, just something you do when the moment seems right.

By the way, NO DOUGHNUTS. ..... the dumbest thing around, might as well do doughnuts in a parking garage with some "nawwzzz" if you're going to do that.

Mine is too. I have all these useless numbers and formulas from work from the last 15 years that I will never use but I cant remember where I put my keys.

To me, this is the absolute best, gold medal, sexiest burnout on the net.

If you do a burnout video I would hope you up this one.

I didnt know Tony had a gen 1 charger. That engine sounds pretty stout.

Talking about reckless, watch some of those youtube videos of them fools drifing inside a circle of people. Dangerous stuff right there. At least when we did it 30 years ago we had enough sense to stand back well out of the way.

I came the same realization soon after taking my ride to the track. Exhibitions on the street to me are like guys on atv’s that find a puddle of water out on the trail and spend the day riding back and forth in it making it into a muddy bomb crater. I never saw the point, accomplishments, or challenge other than ruining the trail, and a good atv:wtf:

screaming at a computer post ? unreal.
I still have trouble believing people think I`m screaming because of caps , this p.c. does it sometimes on its own , posts stuff while I`m still typing , on top of that , i cant type worth a crap , have to proof read everything .
Many times when I hit the caps button it posts instantly too , i should quit using caps altogether , but then someone would try to be a grammer cop -----

I saw that one before and totally agree with the methods.
I love UTG (aka whitepunkonitro) but totally disagree with his neutral drop method. I don't neutral drop any automatic unless I'm taking my car straight to the junkyard. IF a car can't burn the tires by standing on the brake and mashing it, then carry a water bottle and dose the tires before trying. Agree, cool to watch his burn out though...
