Hey guys and gals, I just picked up a 1965 Plymouth Fury II today with the 318, I am also on the For B-Bodies only forum as well. This babe is all original, except the steering wheel, and probably light bulbs haha. My plan with this girl is to pretty much keep her how she is but slightly mod the engine. Mild cam, maybe some headers and exhaust and put a 4 barrel on it but keep the paint the way it is. Interior is all original as well except the steering which i already mention. Really the only thing would to be to re-upholster the front bench. Hope you guys enjoy the pics, they aren't the best but will do for now!

Ottaly sorry that I actually realized I have a C-Body totally.my bad guys

Years back, one of the young guns in my neighborhood bought a '65 Fury I that had been a taxi. He bought it with no drive train & I helped him scavenge the wrecking yards for a 440 & 727. He asked for my help so he could install the engine & transmission properly, he actually wanted me to tell him if he was doing it correctly so he could learn from hands on experience. He got it running, so my job was done for the time being. Flash forward 5 years, he is employed with the fire department, going to college, & still making improvements to the car. Flash forward another 10 years, I'm at a bracket race, he walks up & asks me how I've been & we rehash old times. He still has the '65 but now it a dedicated bracket car with a stroked 440 to 572 making gobs of horsepower & a ton of torque. He tells me he's getting the new combination sorted out & hopes to put the car in the low 11's to high 10's. I haven't seen him in a few years now, I'm sure with his grit & determination he will accomplish his goal & then some. Maybe I'll run across him again in another few years.

This is awesome! Definitely going to be getting the engine together here doing a hot stock stroke 318 poly build, with the guidance Gary Pavlovich about building one, the reason I'm going this route is to just get a taste of doing this stuff as I have never done it before and want to learn. I think I will have trouble finding a torque conver that fits the A727 trans as they made minor changes in 66. For what the C-body guys tell me over on that forum. Do you know of any converters that would fit the 65 trans?

Get with some of the converter builders & tell them the direction you are going in & get there recommendation.
