I live in Decatur, Georgia and I was wondering where to get my car weighed. I don't race the car just want to know. Any guestimates? The car is a '71 Duster with a small block, TTI headers, 2.5" exhaust, bench seat, no heater box, manual brakes and steering, stock K frame and suspension, 833 4 speed, chromoly trans yoke, driveshaft, pinion yoke, 9.25 rear, police wheels, 19565R15 front ,27560R15 rear tires.

We have a gravel and sand store that has a big truck scale, we would go in at night and drive across the scale and look through the window and see the digital reading

We do basically the same here to weigh our cattle. Drive over the scale at the local grain co op. And look through the window

Look for an Allied Van Company or other similar moving company near you, many times they will have scales and charge you a few dollars to use it. Otherwise, head to a truck stop with CAT Scales (catscale.com for locations), or go to your local track that does tech, as they should have scales.

If you have a recycle center where they weigh what you're dumping, would have scales.

I always weight it at the drag strip..your duster sounds like it would be right about what mine weights..2190..

Wow..grain elevator scales! Great idea. We have NOTHING like that around here. I was going to say maybe a truckstop scale or a scrap yard (they have scales). I resisted the temptation to tell you to get four bathroom scales, jack up the car and place one under each wheel. That would be terrible for me to do that right? :)

Pretty much as above, live in a small “elevator town”, scale readout shinning bright all hours, day and night. If you wish to scale just the front of the car, front tires only resting on the scale, back off let the machine reset back to zero, then drive forward to get total weight. Drive forward completely off the pad, again let the machine reset to zero, and then drive backwards, back tires only on the scale to weight the back end of the car.

Not ALL scales may operate like this, the one in our town resets itself this way…

And remember all scales have a sweet spot, these scales accuracy is in the high range, weight being tandem trucks, grain barge wagons, and semi trucks.

You can lose a bunch of weight with aluminium parts on the motor like intake, heads, waterpump etc. Guessing 3300. Please post when you know.

Probably around 3,000 lbs..If you have a truck stop close by you can weigh it on their Cat scale..

My AAR weighed 3250 so I would think it would be under 3000lbs

My 72 Demon I had years ago with a 340 with aluminum intake ..no back seat..steel rallye wheels and a bench seat weighed 2,900 on the scales at the drag strip where I bracket raced it..

Drive to the dump with a couple bags of trash, they will weigh the car on entrance and exit without you in it and give you a reciept with the weight. Best $5 you'll spend.

^^Maybe more than that. When I weighed my Dakota at the landfill transfer station, there was 80 lbs difference between entrance and exit scales. That adds up if you are hauling "pay for" garbage!!!!

We weigh on the same scale here i didnt think about a busy landfill.

That interesting, I always thought they were heavier than that.

It was in drag race mode, no heater box, only drivers seat, no head liner because a mouse eat holes in it, and no carpet.

Thanks for all the replies. I will head to the local scrap yard and/or truck stop as soon as I can. Will post weight when I get it done. I'd be stoked if it comes in under 3000lbs!

Yes a truck stop, one that has a Cat scale. Trucking weights need to be accurate due to possible fines from overweights but it will cost more than $5. I would trust those as being more accurate and calibrated more often than any scrap yard. CAT Scale Locator | CAT Scale

My guess, 3200 pounds. My local boneyard has a scale. Weigh going in, weigh going out. Get paid the difference in cash for steel scrap or cars.
