Help with camshaft for 340/416

no
but there are lots of 108 cams without the long exhaust
headers or not and what heads make difference too
stock heads maybe

Aw man, I wanted to hear that thing run...........
In my 3.58 stroke 367 engine; I would not run it because of the very early opening exhaust valve, which sacrifices fuel-economy; but that's the only reason.
I would gladly give up 10* on the exhaust duration, and give it to the power-stroke. But on a 4" stroke, IDK if it would be as hard on gas, and in any case those 3.91s are gonna suck gas no matter what.
I agree whole heartedly that there are better 108 cams,
but I also don't see any value in a 108 cam for this build; (and I don't think you were alluding to that).
In a streeter, and
with 4" arm,and
if not going for the sound,
the bottom end is gonna be killer no matter what the compression ratio; and
almost no matter what street-friendly cam you slide in there.
The problem will not be, not-enough-power. The problem will be dealing with the way-to-much power at low rpm/low speeds. It be like; you can't even floor it until third gear; it's likely gonna smoke the 14s, with 3.91s thru two gears, and I think, maybe even to redline in third gear. I mean 5500 in D,lol, is ~100mph.
And how are you gonna pass somebody safely at hi-way speed; I mean 60mph in second is ~4700,lol. Don't floor it, you could be sideways in a heartbeat.
You might as well defeat the secondaries, retard the timing, and install a rudder to keep you straight........
Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, but I think not by much, lol.
