He should be fine with that. But you need to understand that if he uncovers rust, or some other problem, the price will go up. I think most guys like to be on the same page as their customers.
PLEASE ask him if it would be OK to take pictures periodically to post in he Restoration section of the forum. Who knows, it could mean some business for him.

I understand if unforeseen problems arise it could have an effect on the price. Owning the car for 40 years I have a real good idea of what's under that paint, I live here in Oregon they do not salt the road the car is been garage for the last 30 years has its original factory paint on it. But anything's possible. I will take photos and post them I never would have thought of that but it sounds like a great idea hopefully he's on board with that.
