Gas pedal Assembly helped needed!

Hey guys, I'm trying to reassemble my gas pedal and somehow I can figure out where this "spring" goes? I feel like an idiot but I need help please. Anyone know how this thing goes in or could you show me pictures of yours? My car is a 70 Duster. Thanks guys
