GIVING IT AWAY

-
Bought my black '65 GT in 1968. Black then, yellow now. Just took it on a 4,000 mile trip in September and will never let it go. I'm 70 years old and am still loving it. I'm glad to hear that you are going to hang onto yours.

Well, it's been a while. Here is a F100 (1966) that I built. It has a front end from a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis and the engine and trans from the same car. 4.6 EFI. Car was wrecked with 68k miles. This truck drove and rode great. Runs like a top. 20.2 mpg on the highway. I sold it. Working on another one.
Notice the instrument panel. It came out of the car as well. Vintage air. Bucket seats with custom built console. Rear end from a Mercury Mountaineer with disc brakes. Mustang wheels.

Well, I'm giving it away. I've been working on this car for 9 years. I started this with the intention of giving it to my grandson. I let him drive it when he was just 11 years old. I hoped that he would like it and want it. He just turned 18 and has no interest in it. he would rather have an I Phone 10. I'm disappointed. I realize I can't make him like what I like.
I'm giving it to my daughter, His mom. Maybe in another 18 years he will appreciate it. My daughter has the room to keep it and the means to take care of it. She wants it and is excited to have it.
I'm building a 63 F100 and have discovered that I like building them better than owning them. It's time to move on.
