71 Dart 408 vs 71 Duster 410......

Well....bored...no racing until this fall....So

71 Dart has 408 with wiseco pistons...12 to 1 compression Scat rods...Hughes 260/264 cam with 1.6 intake 1.5 exhaust, Howard's EDM lifters... heads are Trick Flow out of the box heads with valve springs shimmed to 1.80....ported SV intake, 950 QFT carb on E85....MP Race Distributor with MSD 7....TTi 1 7/8 headers.`..Tf 904 with ultimate converter 4.30 Strange Dana 60....ladder bars with DA shocks in rear....good old torsion bars and 90/10 shocks in front with QA1 K member,,,Race weight 2875....

71 Duster has 410 with wiseco pistons...12 to 1 compression Scat rods...Hughes 260/264 cam with 1.6 intake 1.5 exhaust, Howard's EDM lifters... heads are Eddy ported by IMM with 2.055/1.60 valves..same valve springs shimmed to 1.80....port matched Victor 340.., 950 QFT carb on E85....MP Race Distributor with MSD 6....TTi 1 7/8 headers.`..Tf 904 with TA 4200 series converter 4.30 Strange Dana 60....ladder bars with DA shocks in rear....Has Gerst coil over spring kit on QA1 k member with Viking DA shocks....Race weight 2975

Both engines are fresh with no runs on them....new pistons ..rings and bearing...Heads are new.....rest of parts are being reused.........Both cars have gone 10.30s in vegas with strokers....Wont be about to run them until November what it looks like.

I think the Duster will be right there with the dart.....just my hunch....lol...if it a tenth behind...that ok...given it is carry 100 lbs more....

I do have a Victor 340 available for the Dart that was worked on a Imm if the SV does not work out....
i hope to start installing the engine in the Duster this weekend...


The eddy heads will be down on power to the TF’s. Depending on the port work, 20-30 HP down. Do they both have the exact same cam?
