What color should fan blades and clutch be painted? It’s a 215 340 fan

thanks in advance

Fan is satin black. The clutches are natural unpainted aluminum. The springs are usually cadmium plated although I have not seen a NOS one.

Edit:
I just found a NOS one on Ebay. Make your own judgement on the black they used.

I dont think the clutch should be painted. The ones I have seen were always left natural aluminum.
Clean it up real good get all dirt and grease off of it, then reasemble.

I agree, painting the clutch may hinder the thermo characteristic for heat dissipation.

Gloss black on fan.

No paint on clutch as mentioned.

So the outer edge looks silver? Other side pic?

The fan is installed now. This is the only pic I have on my computer showing the back side. .

@694spd,

Would you be able to provide this measurement of your torque fan clutch, or the dimension from where the fan mounts to the face where the pulley sits or the length of the "stub shaft" from back of clutch to pulley surface.

Thanks!

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^see the lip on the bottom of the clutch, facing the bolt area ? That can be machined off of the short clutches to help w/ bolt installation ---------
I cut mine off about .100 , wish I`d gone a hair more !

The fan should be 3/4" from radiator. and have 3/4" to 1" around fan and shroud.
