Popped on some new-to-me poverty caps. Such a small adornment that can make such a big difference in the personality of a car. I like these because if you’re feelin them one day, punch them on. If you’re not, pry them off for the day.

I have owned this for 20 months and I just have her a first bath today. Interior carpeting and seats are done. Just have to cover the shifter and get the headliner in. On the road we got her up to 90 at 4500 rpms. About as fast as we could on the rural roads . Still have some drivetrain noise to track down.

I finally got my Hotchkis A body springs yesterday.
I ordered them in January!
Today I removed the current SS springs from the car.
Went to install new springs...supplied bushings I can't get on old shackle shaft.
The holes are smaller by a bit and old shackle has corrosion attached to both bolt shafts.
I cleaned them up with file and sandpaper, but no dice.
Ordered new shackles.
Mounting bracket that came with springs is wider than stock. Spring moves sideways abt 1/4 to 3/8 of inch.
I don't think that's right.
Tried to find Hotchkis ph number but can't get into there website. I went there yesterday and was able to download instructions.

Well I will try again tomorrow.

Made the first run of the season down to the shore house with my youngest and her pup.

Longest run with the new 2bbl carb set up and I'm feeling pretty good about it... And we made it just in time for the sunset.

Well I will try again tomorrow.

Please share some before and after pics showing difference between the Hotchkis springs and the SS springs. I'm considering changing out my SS springs for something lower and more designed for handling.

Finished doing the console today, was missing the ashtray section Which I purchased from a member here scored a new top at a car meet earlier on in the year removed wood grain cover as I purchased one from Rick @ Laysons what a B$tch getting all that gum off , used shellite to soften it and used a blade and thumb which was bleeding from under the nail to pull it off. Modified shift to lock out 3rd as I’m using the Forward pattern cheater manual forward shift valve body. Yeah I know girly shift kit but I wanted to retain the factory looking shifter. Over all pretty pleased how it come out as it lacked that elegance in that area.
