Yeah, the '65 diagram shows it getting power from the same connection on the wiper switch. The wiring diagram lists it as a B1 wire connecting to one of the two B terminals on the switch. In the diagram, that circuit is off by itself and not run along with all the other main dash harness wires, but, this is just a diagram and sometimes they do that for space or to just make it easier to display. It may still be a main harness wire.
Ok Ill check under the dash tomorrow when i go to work on the bumpers, thanks for the info! Is the back up light switch the same for the 65 and 66 column mounted switches?

As far as I remember, yes. I don't remember there being any differences.
 
2 3/4 wide 1 7/8 tall inches. Those are the lens dimension. I never could find just the clear lens for the back up light.

Incidentally - don't put the tab of your tape measure into the gap - notice that nice fresh missing piece just to the left of the tape in the second pic? That happened when I pulled the tape out of the position from the first shot...

I checked on the steering column it does not have a back up switch It has a hole in the column that you mentioned but the harness is wired for the back up lights. I’m assuming that is difficult even if you get a back up switch to wire it up?
 
I wouldn't consider it difficult physically. It's mostly a matter of rounding up the parts. Taillight lenses, sockets, switch, mounting hardware, actuator finger, and a couple of light bulbs.
 
True for the taillights for sure - not sure I've seen a '64 Dart wagon with backup lights.
My '64 coupe has the backup lights in the trunk lid - my '64 wagon doesn't have backup lights.

Maybe get some and put them in the valance under the bumper?

63/64 wagons had round housings that mounted just above the bumper on the flat part of the sheetmetal below the taillights.

I will be using the 63/64 backup lights instead of the OEM backup lights in the outer taillightsIn my wagon. The OEM B/U lights will be used as separate amber/yellow turn signals.

I can’t believe that it was even street legal to have a car without back up lights You would think that would have to be a standard.
 
I think they were standard in 66. Dart's anyway.

In 65 backup lights was just an extra cost option as was an outside mirror. A Day/Night inside mirror was also an option.
 
Seat belts are another option/standard equipment that happened around 1966. Clean Air Package as well in 66. As far as I know none in 65. The Govt. must have got involved. LOL

Cool - I don't think I've ever seen a '63 or '64 with them (or, if I did, I didn't notice it :))
