I have my dumps turned sideways, since I have minimal ground clearance there, they are way too loud outside of the car, they just blast the noise right at people. I'm going to angle them down as much as I can to try to an calm them down a little.

Definitely a personal preference, a little trial and error to find a happy medium might be all you need without resorting to more drastic measures. I’ve read a bit on angling them in towards each other can help cancel out certain frequencies, but have never tried that as I’m content with my setup.
