I'm looking for a high quality small block engine cradle. I can only seem to find cheaper looking ones online. Does anybody have a source for a nice engine cradle that won't give me trouble?

Make one,,I have made several of these ....has wheels as well!

I build my own for the application, most are run stands and delivery stands.

If you don't have anyway of making your own, I got one for a 440 RB from Summit or Jegs that was well made. I added a set of casters . Sorry sold it with the engine so no photos.I believe they had them for both big and small blocks.

I have three of the commercial ones.
Two are from Summit and one from Jegs, they work just fine.

there was a member on here who used to make and sell them, but i cant remember who it was

I do BB's and make mine out of wood as needed and add casters. When I'm done it becomes firewood.

I have used the furniture dolly from HF. Cheap and movable.

I used to make them... STOUT... but people want stout at the same price as the cheap one that's barely usable from summit/all star.

I have used this one. It worked well. Was around $75 at Summit. It was good for transporting (wheels off) and moving around in the garage (wheels on).

I built this one for the engine/tranny from the piece of steel I bought for the subframe connectors - about $40 worth.

This one was made from an old treadmill. We even utilized the handles. Bought casters from Harbor Freight, probably have $20.00 into it. Sorry it has towels on it but Ill get a better picture later.

I transported a small block with the same stand, just left the casters off and ran lag bolts to my trailer floor.
I have a different engine sitting on the same same stand, 6 years later, the commercial ones hold up good and are cheap.
Think about it for a minute, all they do is just support weight, and with casters allow you to move the engine to a storage position, its not like it is a moving part.

My 1969 Road Runner I bought from my wife's uncle who bout it brand new.

man that is awesome

you oughta go in the welcome section of the forum and post up some pics
im sure im not the only one who'd like to see it

Hello Im picking up a BB 383 can you please give me the dimensions with between the boards and the height to fit the oil pan as you did?

Hi, Yes I can get the dimensions... but really all you need is the oil pan as the pan is what sits on the top of the boards..(make it snug fit) and the height is enough to keep your pan sump off the bottom board,,

Hello I am going to pick it up so I don't have an oil pan yet. I see you used 2x12 so I guess I only need the with between the oil pan sides. Thanks
