Hey guys, I'm looking for ideas on mounting the coil on my small block. I have a 408 magnum in my 70 dart. I had an edelbrock dual plane intake on it and I had made a bracket to mount the coil on the back of the intake right next to the distributor. I am swapping to a single plane M1 intake right now and it doesn't have any extra bolt holes or mounts for a coil like the dual plane did.

I would like to keep the coil in the same location since my wiring harness and coil wire are cut to length. What have you guys done?

on my 408, sorry, no pics on hand, I made a bracket that attached to the intake bolt but allowed me to use the factory coil mount. I simply bent it and drill the holes in the bracket, then got a longer bolt for the intake bolt to make sure it seated all the way.

Here's mine:

Would love to see some more ideas, as well. I just put a LD4B on my truck, and there is no where good to mount without cutting the harness.

I ended up using a 6 pack coil bracket with our LD4B. I believe a member on here was making some too.
Worked great.

I just ended up buying a 340 6 Pack mount from Van's off ebay. I don't have the stuff to fab one up, anyway...

It's already done. That is my engine. I think it worked out pretty well.
Had to take a good bit off the corners and back of the vertical ears to clear the runners. Sorry, I didn't take any pics, either.

Chrysler engineers seemed to think mounting the coil on the engine was ok for about 50 years, I believe it will be alright..
