5.7 in a '97 Ram.

I have a carb....the intake is $650 or less. MDS delete is just unplug the wiring and leave the plugs in place. The MSD6 box is $550.

I don't see why I couldn't remove what I don't need in the harness. Im no whiz with wiring but I have installed new wiring in several hot rod projects over the years, wired my stock cars, etc. I kind of plod along but can get it done. Got to be someplace to help....

I'm just not a guy that whips out the plastic and buys stuff if I can make or me drive fy my own. Social security doesn't pay that well!
A couple of things to consider.
You can mod your harness for use, but be prepared to spend some long nights with the service manuals and wiring diagrams.
Use the Challenger PCM, the early ones don't allow for MDS or VVT. You will need the PCM reflashed to eliminate anti-theft, to ignore the lack of a signal from an ABS, body, and transmission computers. Depending on your setup and who does the flash, you may be better off just having them eliminate everything but basic engine controls, if possible- PCMs vary by year and equipment, I'm not sure on yours. Hotwire does reflashing, as do others- years ago I used these guys: Auto Computer Performance, ECM, ECU, PCM, engine computer, auto computer, ecm repair, pcm repair, ecu performance programming margate,FL
More recently, it seems there's a lot of late model tuners around to do reflashing. Check around.
Yours is later than ones I've dealt with, I'm not up on the MDS and VVT workarounds.
Your truck instrumentation can still be used by "T"ing in standard sending units next to the ones required by the PCM.
Oh, yeah- if you stay FI you'll need the Challenger (or Hemi truck) drive by wire gas pedal.
What are you thinking of running for a tranny?
