1976 charcoal canister hose routing to carter 0- 2543 carburetor

That Carter number is a casting number, not a carburetor number. Carter carb numbers were stamped on an aluminum tag secured to the carb by one of the bowl screws. Usually removed and discarded during the "remanufacturing" process.

For info on canister hookup with carbs not equipped, read this.

Thanks for the reply:

the Carburetor that i want to use does not have a nipple for the float bowl valve . instead of blocking it off at the canister would it be feasible to route this into the air breather assembly on the outside of the air filter, in that housing ?.

I will be hooking up the purge line into the PCV valve and adding the external purge valve as described and teeing into the vacuum advance line.
