I disassembled the tq I’ve been running for years, and I found the pockets in the base that the jet wells sit in were full of fuel. It’s Vp c-12 and was kind of jelled up. This is a drag car that has been sitting since October. I know it’s a common problem for them to leak. So I filled the bowls with mineral spririts, but I can’t detect a leak.
Could the fuel be from somewhere else?
Could the bowl only leak when under stress when the carb is assembled?
The floats and needle and seats are in good shape, it’s not flooding over.

Check the well plug in the bottom of the phenolic plastic center section, it may only leak when the bowl expands with engine heat. I've always taken a Dremel tool & cut a small grove top & bottom & sealed them with JB weld.

Use JB if you want, but it's not impervious to gas. I use a produce called Seal All. Advance carries it. If the bowl wells are still glued on good, but just leak, you can take a small brush and brush Seal All on the exterior and seal them good. Now, it comes out kinda watery and you ain't gonna think it's gonna work but it does a good job.

Thanks guys, I may give the seal all a try. I’ve read mixed reviews on the jb weld. This is for a race car that only sees vp fuel, so ethanol is not a problem.
I replaced the center section with another that’s the same number. Seems to run ok, we’ll see after I make a few runs.
