A guy walks into a bar and yells very loudly, "All lawyers are @ssholes"...

After a short pause, a guy in the back yells, ""you better take that back"...

The first guy asks, "Why are you a lawyer"???

The second man replies, "No, I'm an @sshole"...

A teacher gives her kindergarden students four flavors of live savers and they have to guess the flavors the students guess cherry lime and orange.

They don't know the last flavor. So the teacher gives them and hint and say its what your parents call each other. [honey] But a little girl shouts and says “ OMG there assholes.

My daughter asked me if she can get a tattoo shes 20yo, my advice was , you don't need my permission as your an adult and need to make your own decision's in life. I also said i would not get any but your choice. Well she did and they are crap in my eyes but she likes them.

I had to go through and read the whole thread complete. During the day, I was reading from work so I wasn't paying complete attention and I missed quite a bit.

So in regards to the permanent factor. I'm glad a lot of you reminded me how permanent this is and why I really need to take time to think about it.

In regards to what the bible says: I didn't really want to go there but since a few of you guys did, i am too. I have really wondered how much of the bible applies to women. MAN was made in the image of God and the Sons of God. As far I can interpret, there is no such thing as a female angel because the angels are SPECIFICALLY SONS of God.
So that being said a woman is of the dust of earth only and we were made in the image of the MAN of who we directly came from his side.

Also, if you read a lot of the proverbs it mentions many times, as lesson to you SON....
That really leaves us females out in the cold. I have even wondered if I myself am going to heaven because it's for men only, the SONS OF GOD and him made in their image. Women are usually the property of men, So that makes me chop suey at the pearly gates, which I really think I could be thrown out on my *** along with every other woman.

I have had a lot of time to think about this and odds are you guys never thought about it from where I'm sitting in the room. So God is really talking to you not me when beards and all that come up. Which may be why this discussion is more heated with gender involved. If a young man wanted a duster tattoo, would it be as big of objection??? There's something in that.

In regards to being passionate and regretting a tattoo. I am not saying I am getting a tattoo but if I did, I won't regret the duster or anything mopar related. I took an automotive class by random chance because it was suggested simply because I was having trouble making my school schedule. All the classes I wanted were taken and the automotive was the right credit hours and right time of day to work perfect. Even still when it was suggested, I thought the idea was freaking nuts. My reaction was pretty much:
Absolutely crazy!!! I am 4'7" 80- lbs. And I'm going to work on cars!!!...... you've gone completely mad with that crap!!!!

Then I completed the class because it was pretty much my only option..... and then i willingly completed the whole program, I became hungry for automotive and i wanted to learn it all. I wanted to rebuild engines and paint the whole car while I was there. I found something that made sense to me and I could actually do it and I wasn't bored with it even now. So for automotive to change my whole life, i will NEVER regret any of it, including my favorite car, the duster.

Interesting reactions and I have no hard feelings towards any replies no matter how extreme or in the middle.

Thanks

We have the Blood of The New Covenant. Chicks go to heaven too.

Funny how some people argue about what the bible says . If it says it it says it .
Am I perfect ? GOD knows I aint !

No one is perfect , no not one .
All sin is sin , and there is no one that hasnt sinned ,'' me included '', its hard enough to try to keep from it for me , w/o doing more on purpose .
----------J M O ----------------I have enough trouble trying to do what the bible says -----------------
-I was raised in a one parent home and left alone a lot , and did pretty much everything I wanted , with not much guidance , but *** kickings , still didnt do me much good, GOD has had a bigger influence on me that anything else , and still workin on me .
Dont mean to be holier than tho , or preaching to you .

Yup, there's that hypocrisy again, do as I say not as I do. And why is a grown man looking at "girls"? You guys are really doing your religion a disservice here.

i choose to use the word girl instead of woman to show the difference in maturity
getting a tattoo is a immature thing to do
i can tell you this because i was 17 when i got mine
(i was also very drunk, another thing i would advise against)

that may be hypocrisy, as you called it, or it may be i did something stupid as a youth and now that im mature, i have the experience to tell her it may be a bad idea

like they say, good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment

where the hell do you come up with this stupid crap?? got my first at 18 or 19. my last in my 40's and now in my 50's i'll bet getting another as soon as my buddy's shop opens back up.. stone cold sober for all of them. just because you were a stupid *** when drunk doesn't mean everyone else is as much of a jackass as you were.

Nothing could be further from the truth. If you want to read the bible, start with the gospel of Mathew. Get a bible with Jesus's words in red. If you want to know what God is like, read what Jesus was like and what He said. Many women in the bible were of critical importance. How did Jesus treat women? A lot of the bible lumps men and women together as "men". You are no less important than I am, in Gods eyes.

yup.. in many of their eyes (hell you can see the woman hate in many replies in this thread. They hide behind the Bible and religion. ) women are only good barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. barbaric way of thinking.

Absolutely. Plenty of women involved in the progression of the good news.
Jesus is not accusatory, venomous, phariseacle or vindictive. And warns against those who practice this behavior.

Right. When The Bible says "man" most of the time it's talking about the species of the huMAN race.

It's funny that you started this thread when you did because I was getting ready to start a tattoo thread wanting to see yalls! I dont have any tattoos myself but iv always wanted one. I am a very OCD overthink, overcalculate type person. So it's hard for me to decide on something I want to put on my body forever. I want a few a most definitely want something mopar related, i want something Broncos related, I want something outdoorsman hunting guns etc related, and I want a full sleeve with clocks on it. I'm not sure what I want in the background but I want to be a complete sleeve and each clock will be of a different design and set and a specific time for important times in my life. And each clock will have wings. Representing "time flies"
As for you do what makes you happy. Just dont jump into it blindly as that can lead to regret lol. If you want one we can go get one together :D

One of mine is a wrist watch. The band has my son's name and date - the face is set to 9:10pm which is when he was born. I like your ideas.

Makes me sad that you have felt that way based on what someone is telling you the Bible says. 66fs has a really good link above, you should listen to what Alistair Begg has to say on it.

Let me add Galatians 3:26-29 - You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Emphasis added)

My grandfather had a 48-star US flag on one forearm and a scantily clad gypsy dancing girl on the other forearm. He got them when he lied about his age to join the Army so he could be in the Spanish-American War. He loved the US and the flag, but he regretted his tattoos.

After the Army sent him home for fraudulent enlistment, he began a lifetime in law enforcement. He could never wear a short-sleeve shirt - had to keep them hidden.

However, he did have one good thing to say about tats - “They sure make it easy to positively ID someone.”

Yea that's what I want to do i want one for my oldest son the time he was born one for my daughter and youngest son. I want another with 1205 which is the date I got sober. And just have them all with important dates and times.

Five pages of replies, and I didn't see a take close to mine so here goes:

It has nothing to do with horrible or skanky, it's more about (not) following the crowd. It seems to me to be just another fashion fad that would come and go...with the exception that it would never go.
Dudes with long hair (Fabio anyone? Hair Metal music?)
Earrings on men: first one ear, (and which ear had meaning if I remember right) then both.
Multiple earrings on women.
Then piercings...in some of the most uncomfortable (I assume) places.
Feels to me like people are just chasing the latest fad in order to fit in with the cool kids. I've always felt and enjoyed being a little different (not better, just different) than the crowd. It's one of the reason I chose Mopar, 'cause most others didn't.
Hair can be cut. (though photos last forever...)
Holes in your body will close back up (except for those ginormous rings some kids are sticking in their ear lobes)
But Tat's...they're forever.
