Right, the honky thing always amused me. I used to constantly tell the older adults at the church I grew up in that Jesus for sure had dark skin. They often looked at me in disgust. LOL I would just look at them and say "what difference does it make?" Most of them are dead now, so they "found out".
our preacher has said this a few times from the pulpit, he has some family that was in the Clan
they are going to be very surprised IF they make it to heaven and find out their saviour is Jewish
they will also have some explaining to do
as for the depictions of Jesus having long hair, plain wrong
most likely originated when people confused a Nazarite with a Nazarene
both the old and the new testament teach it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair (on a side note, consider Revelation 9:8) so to think that Jesus, who was perfect had long hair, is ridiculous
kinda like how we look at an article in the washington post, just because someone managed to put something on paper on a subject, does not make them an expert on it, or even qualified to speak on it
