68 Dart 4 Spd shifter install question!

I am ready to install 360 motor & 4spd together. Was checking some clearances at tunnel
area. Looks like I will have to unhook the rods from shifter to get them by cross member.
Everything is new from Brewers. What is your wisdom? Photos enclosed,D dog!
