Ok, silly question I know. Pictured are early A motor mounts for a 318. Which one is the driver side? Gotta stuff this motor in with the 42RH to mock up a trans mount. Thanks!

I also don’t have any of the bolts to mount them to the block. so I’ll need to pick up some grade 8 ones. Are these just six 7/16 bolts with nuts and lock washers? Looks like I need 1 1/4 long.

Those are truck mounts. Also use top lock nuts. The washer goes on the bolt and is installed on the block side nuts go up against the steel mounts without washers. Do not use lock washers only flat washers against the cast iron. Top lock nuts are all steel no plastic like nylocs have.

Thanks @Oldmanmopar. I didn’t know they were truck mounts. Bought them off a member here who said they were for early A. Perhaps explains why the mounts have 4 holes in the brackets and my block only has 3 per side?

I’ve got a 65 Valiant. What makes them truck mounts, are they taller? I thought the four mounting holes was strange but didn’t think much about it. Sure appreciate the knowledge!

Uh, I don't know 'bout that, OMM- those do look like early A mounts to me. Tried to get a pic of mine, but couldn't get the camera in there- but from a quick visual, they're a match to what's on my '66 wagon.

Thanks Professor. I also mistyped earlier, the motor mounts do have 3 holes, the block has 4 mounting bosses. It’s a 70’s block if that makes any difference. Is the nut that goes on the bottom (through the K frame) anything special?

Just a nut with a heavy (thick) washer, I'd use a lockwasher between the two- I forget what size nut, offhand... 1/2-13NC I believe?

You do not need or want grade 8 bolts
although they work you have to torque them to grade 8 specs not FSM specs to give them their stretch
Grade 5 works fine

DOES ANYONE MAKE A POLYURETHANE mount for that 518 46RH I have a Dakota that needs a mount
