At any rate, that would still call for a 10.5 power valve.

Sorry no tach but I made sure the throttle remained steady during my test. If I am at 16.5 during cruise would a 8.5 power valve be too low?

I have not taken the new carb apart yet. I will get back with you. I am trying to find a 10.5 power valve local.

Quikfuel article says they come with a 6.5 with an electric choke like mine.

Ok, I replaced the power valve with a 10.5, seems to idle much better now. I have the timing set at the maximum thatthe slotted adjuster will allow, no pinging. Now I will have the Lokar cables done over and I think it will be all set.
