Did you resolve your issue? And how did you correct it? I have a mcleod flywheel as well & the mini starter is not stuck but noisy, especially after start up. Sounds like a chevy. LOL.
Since I did not have any room to adjust the starter away from the flywheel, i decided to take a chance and grind down the starter gear a little. That solved the problem even though it seems like a hack.
