Make friends with a local garage owner & see if you can purchase some SafetyKleen from him. It can be a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. I rigged up a diesel fuel filter & plate. As the pump picks it up, it runs through the filter the filter lasts me about a year before I have to change it.
