Mopar Mini starter making noise

Wow! I have never seen that done before but if it worked what the heck. I may have to do the same thing as there are not many options. My second starter was even worse than the first. Is there any noise left with yours? Or was is it a 100% success? Thanks for your reply.

100% success, and no issues since. I had a new mini starter and an old mini starter to pick from when doing this er, modification. I used the older mini starter because i did not want to mess up the new mini starter if the trick did not work.
