Hi. Its a 73 Duster 340 with what I believe to be original driveshaft and rear. Took it to a shop to do ujoints and other work. Gave him 2 moog 246 ujoints for either side. He said they weren’t fitting but after a week or so he said he got them to fit. Had a guy help me with brakes and he said I should check out the ujoint situation. He’s no expert though. Finally the question, from what you can see do things(yoke, ujoint) look okay or not?
Is it normal for the ujoint to be sitting out like that in some of the pics?
Appreciate the help
John
First pics are the rear side

IIRC both front use the internal "C" clip to center the joint, the rear on the driveshaft same, don't recall how the one on the diff yoke centers.

Something that caught my eye but might be just grease and dirt, Is that a crack?

Aftermarket U-joints and one rear joint failed in the past based on the yoke and retainer plate scars.

Yeah. That’s a good catch dana67dart. Hard to tell. I’ll have to get a better look. With those scars on the yoke, would you think it’s still sound ? I know it’s kind of impossible to tell just by a pic. From my totally untrained eye the front looks better than the back, I’m just wondering if I should take it in and get it checked out. I was able to get the car up to about 50mph (not more because of brake situation which I’m working on) and everything felt ok. No vibrations.
