Bum stripe question

That is a good question, I am getting ready to paint my car and will be replacing the original bumblebee stripe. My car currently has the original stripe on it and as you probably know the factory put it on after the paint job because it is acrylic enamel with no clear. I am putting my stripe on over the clear but and I'm curious to other people's opinion.
