Actually other than the careless treatment of that lathe......hammering and weld spatter, I see not much different than a typical "mill" repair done here some years ago

I was thinkin like 1930s.

They got the job done in spite of their conditions and convictions

We take for granted how well off we are in the USA

I feel graditude for what we have been blessed with

That could be us or our kids doing that if we lived there

God Bless the USA!!!!

DammitBoy! Check out that Classy front bumper on that truck at 0.33-0.35!

Watch out for the spring perch weapons while turning that sucker... Take you arm off.

Love the indicator, they did`nt cheap out on the grease though.
To think this is a nuclear weapon owning nation...
many years ago, I saw a picture in a magazine of some country(probably India or Pakistan), lifting a HUGE nuclear pressure vessel. They had no cranes big enough, so they used like thousands of bottle jacks and wood cribbing. When I saw that picture, I said the same thing, "these guys are going to build and operate a nuclear reactor?" God help us.

I guess its like being born blind, kind if hard to explain to a blind person what sight is like.
They are definately happy, proud and getting the job done.
Nice to have a simple perspective.

Hey, they got it fixed
Years ago there was a show on called "Cuban Chrome" you wouldn't believe the things they do to keep those old American cars running, hammering out entire new body panels with wood and mallets, and those old cars are passed down from father to son like heirlooms

A while back I saw a documentary of a Russian ship being scrapped at what appeared to be a beautiful South Pacific Island.
The workers dismantling the ship had sandals/footwear identical to those worn by the folks on the above video.... Can't believe they still have feet.
Again, we are fortunate....

I like it because they took what they had and got it done. That was no small job, either, no matter what country you're in. We're surprisingly more alike than we are different.

Been watching this channel for a year or so. When I saw then dismantling a diesel truck engine on the ground in front of the shop. In the dirt. Yeah, in the dirt.

I bet it ran when finished.

and to think some people insist on a clean room garage to do the work....ha! Watch the one where they fix a blown tire. The battery rebuild one is cool too, they used new plates but all the welds and cleaning of the acid was done right on the curb, acid went straight onto the ground. Whats up with the press at the end?

There's a bunch of this going on, India? ?? You can see it from Google. Hundreds of junk ships run aground waiting to be scrapped. Here see if this works, Alang, India

Google Maps

You are probably correct.... and I stand corrected

All I can remember is that the beach was BEAUTIFUL, and so was the Island..
I was saddened to seen all the fluids being drained right into the water and especially seeing how hard these folks worked with absolutely no protection

There used to be a nationwide outfit here in the states that would replace a spindle like that on the truck on the side of the road. Called Axle Surgeons. $600 the last time they worked for me

It's funny how they look like teenage boys until you look at his face and it's like , holy cow, he's a grown man.....

Did anyone notice the LH thread lugs on the driver side.
