NE Iowa Mopar MAX August 21-23 2020

toolmanmike-i thought of some things that you may want to find out about at your next meeting for this show.
1- can we bring our swap stuff out on friday prior to/after checking into hotel/motel.
2- gate opening time on sat/sun
3-is there a "host" hotel/motel
4-could you mention a few hotels/motels close or say 15 minutes from track
5-pre-registration forms
6-price differences from pre-registration to day of show
i know what it takes to put on these types of deals as i did it as sec/treasure of local car club.
thanks rick w.

I'll answer what I can.

1) test and tune is on Friday night so the track will be open. We hope to have the swap meet set up Friday.
2) There will be racers staying on the grounds the whole weekend so the pit gates will be open. I would imagine someone will be at the ticket booth at 8 am. (a guess)
3) Joe the track owner mentioned The Hilton Garden Inn on the south side of Cedar Falls offering discounts to racers if you mention the Cedar Falls Motorsports Park name and ask for the Racers discount. There are many hotels straight south just off the 4 lane and on the south side of Cedar Falls as well as some lodging in Waverly to the north.
4)I looked up "lodging in Cedar Falls Iowa" and came up with many in the area. It would be nice to produce a map with links but no need to because Google already does that for us.
5) No pre registration forms. From the information I got so far, the prices are $15 for general admission, $20 for car show includes 2 passes and $30 for a swap space with 2 passes. Now, the car show is on Saturday only so that is a 1 day price. The Swap meet is on Saturday but we want to make sure if you still are here with a swap spot you can sell on Sunday. Joe and I just chatted a min. ago about that. We will try our best to make the $30 swap meet charge be for 2 days unless we get voted down by the members. We are still working out details there and because we are new to this we are learning a lot as we go. The passed president has ran the event for the last few years barely limping along with a $1200 budget. We have collected thousands $ in donations/sponsorship money so we can have a big successful show. We hope to have at least a $3000 to win pay out on Saturday and maybe be able to get a Superstock group to show up if we do. We are busting butt to make it happen. This Covid think set us behind for a few months. Weeks ago we didn't even know if the strip would be able to open because of state restrictions. Thanks for your interest.
