Hate do be a spoiler but if your wheels were a inch narrower or less backspace they probably would clear. Have you measured the car side to side? From the top of the wheel opening to the pavement? And it's rubbing on the front of the fender correct? More caster (the top of the wheel adjusted rearward) would open that gap as well.
