Newbie here! This is my first post on the FABO site so please bear with me if some of the questions I ask seem simple. The last Mopar I owned (70 340 Duster) was from 1975 to 1979. Brought home a "new" numbers matching 70 340 Duster last weekend and started cleaning on it today. Pulled seats and carpet and found a few things that I'm am curious about. Were these cars not primed on the inside? The paint on the floorpans is loose in spots and when I lightly scrape it I get shiny steel underneath. No evidence of any primer. Second question concerns the sheet metal flaps along the inner rockers that protect the wiring harness. Are they somehow removeable or are the welded in? There's a bunch of undercoating around them so I can't really tell without scraping it all out. Thanks for any help and I'll probably be asking alot more questions in the near future.

Post some pics of what your finding. The metal channel should only be attached on one side you should be able to fold it open. I’m not going to say they’re all like this, but all the ones I have been into have. I don’t know if ZieBart undercoating was a special order option or a dealer installed option, but I haven’t seen undercoating inside on the floorboards unless it was being used to hide something from a prospective buyer...

These cars went through a lower body dip process, but it did not always stick.

The material you found on the inside is seam sealer & the wiring covers are welded in at the tabs.

Did you find any broadcast sheets yet?

What Alaskan_TA said.

Be carefully lifting the wire covers, it only takes a few bends till they metal fatigue

Thanks for the replies. I went back out to the garage and did a close examination of one the larger flakes of paint I was able to get up from the floorpan and it does look gray on the backside. I guess the adhesion isn't that good as Alaskan TA said.
I should have said seam sealer instead of undercoating, on the floorpans. My mistake.
Was hoping the wire covers were removable. Would make cleaning alot easier.
Seller had pulled the broadcast sheet, in pretty good condition, from under the rear seat and it does show J55 which matches the hood pad and undercoating underneath the car.
Any step-by-step write ups for posting pics. I'm a points and carb man in a computer car world!

the broadcast sheet

This is something I see and hear often.

'the', singular.

Some of these cars have been found with as many as 5 broadcast sheets in them, and it is also common to find one or two for other cars due to how the sub-assembly lines were run.

There is a list of the normal places to look at the bottom of the HH homepage - www.hamtramck-historical.com

So when your time allows it, can you please search the other places mentioned there and report back please?

If you do find any for other cars, it is possible to get it to that cars owner if the car is known.

Pics will be loaded from PC, once I load them onto it from my phone.
Took out seats, carpet, rear seat side panels, trunk divider and package tray this past weekend.
No additional BC sheets found. Felt up around the back of the glove box insert and didn't feel anything there. Haven't take off the bucket seat backs yet
What would be the maximum number of matching BC sheets one could hope to find on a car?

The wire covers are spot welded on. Mine are beat up pretty good, so I’m going to have to try to straighten them.
