fun with alzheimers

It's a horrible disease not just for the patient but the whole family. The patient eventually becomes bed bound and doesn't know anyone except for the good days which get less and less. The family is torn with decisions and feel guilty because they don't think they had done enough for their loved one. Nobody should have to go through that. Same as Dementia. It travels the same pathway of destruction.
My mother had Dementia and thank goodness Pneumonia took her before she didn't know us.
I went thru this with both my mom and dad. Dad died in 2010 and mom in 2014. My mom died without having a single medical condition. For the last three years my mom did nothing or didn’t know me or anyone. My dad forgot how to swallow and was on a feeding tube for about 2 years. It is without a doubt the one of the hardest ways to die, especially on the surviving family.
