Water heater in the driveway??
he does a lot of work in the garage, and his house is newer, and a lot of those have the water heater in the garage. but ya, my water heater is basically in the driveway, since it's on the outside of the house, and the garage is in the back (where it belongs :D)

Good to know ! Stay safe Doc ! I've started my car this way for years as it is laid up in my garage and i don't want the junk fuel in my tank anywhere near the pump/ carb. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes my water heater is in my garage about 15ft from the car. Ill probably do it in the driveway though as its usually hotter outside the garage than it is inside the garage.

Right now I'm taking final exams...again. tomorrow I have 3.

Want to hear another fun story... I pay roughly 70k a year to go to dental school. About 21k of that is clinic fees, essentially we have to pay for the supplies used in the dental clinic. Well last semester and this semester we have paid full clinic fees, roughly 14k, and have not been allowed in the clinic... technically we havent been allowed on campus at all for anything up until recently but still no full time clinic. How the hell does that work? Yes currently I'm fighting with my school for the students to get reimbursed the money we paid for services that are not being rendered.

haven't messed with my car, I started it 2 days ago and the sucker was not in the mood to start right up. Pumped the gas like 5x and had to crank it over a way more than usual.

They opened the clinic back up and ive been busy with patients the last week. I am going to try and wait until it gets a little cooler out then mess with adding a gas return line and some kind of electric pump. Its just way to hot to go in the garage and work on it being 105+ degrees outside, plus without a/c its not as comfortable to drive lol.

other fun things. I got a scope for my new Ar, and its nics but I decided to buy another scope... the first one was up to 6x magnification and the new second new one is up to 10x magnification :D then I've been able to get 1k rounds of ammo between 9mm and 223. My son also is turning 8 at the end of August so my wife is letting me buy him a 22lr. Its time to start teaching him about gun safety and how to handle guns, plus with all the crazy going on its better to have more guns and not need them then to need them and not have them.

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!

Yea i needed a break and needed to stop with large project after project. It is frustrating I dont feel confident driving it across town now, before taking it apart I had no doubt in my mind to drive it anywhere in town.

Oh yea the kids loved fireworks. We actually ran out, then went back and bought a bunch more. Next year we will do the fireworks that shoot up in the air :D

Look at Rugar 10/22 for the boy, I bought my son one when he was 10, there is a ton aftermarket stuff available for it.

X2 on the 10/22. One of the best rifles ever designed.

Mine shoots 3/8" groups at 50 yards

I'm looking at the M&P 15-22 or Colt m4 .22, I used to have a M&P 15-22 it was a blast. Got rid of it about 5 years ago and now in need of another haha.

Edit- ill check out the 10/22 and see if there are any in town

Hey guys! Miss me?!

I havent done anything to the car lately. Its to hot still unfortunately. I have been keeping an eye out for deals on parts to buy for the electric fuel pump and hopefully air conditioning. Havent seen anything yet though.

Got 2k rounds of .223 brass that is getting reloaded for me now. Which is fun. I have another 1-2k rounds ill get loaded when the first batch is done too.

Anyone been doing anything fun? Hope everyone is staying safe still!

Wondered where you went. Stay cool!

Yeah just been busy. We are what 16 weeks behind on clinic, they are forcing us to stay and assist (which I hate), and trying to get as much of my graduation requirements finished as I can.

Plus I feel bad not contributing anything and not doing anything on the car haha.

Wondered what whas happening. Hoping to visit vegas in april, maybe we can meet then.
I hope you are all well and keeping safe from all that is going on.

OK, sounds like vapor lock and possibly???
Here's an old timer "try and see if this works", wrap the fuel line from the pump outlet to the carb with aluminum foil. Don't make it tight just put it around the lines hoses and loosely squeeze it around the pipe/hose. Here's the theory, aluminum dissipates heat as well as minimally acts as an insulator. So it will reflect heat generated by engine somewhat and if the line gets hot it will better dissipate the heat. Think of if your radiator had only pipes and no fins. Back in the 70s, before ethanol BS I had exactly same issue and wrapped lines with aluminum it helped greatly. Then I got a Moroso cool can and that solved issues. After a while I stopped putting ice in the cool can and just left the cover off and didn't have issues. Reroute you fuel lines away from hot engine sources, cheap method to help diagnose = dollar store aluminum foil.

I'll have to try this trick. Thanks a bunch.

everything balances out. first part of the year, you were getting all kinds of work done on your car, and i wasn't getting anything finished.
now i had to go back to work yesterday just to get some rest from all the wrenching i've been doing  and the weather could not be more perfect for working outside :D

p.s. the kids need more fireworks

Surprised someone hasn't offered up the wooden clothes pins on the fuel line yet..
