I've used solid on a hydraulic cam In effect making it smaller.
I used Rhoads for the same thing, made it smaller bellow 3000, the would give 318wilrun to use a cam one step hotter.
Rhoads provide more idle vacuum, about 2 pounds more at idle.
PS don't waste your time hating on Rhoads, they work and will spin to 7000 RPM reliably .
