Back when I was building a lot of engines for people back in the mid to late 80s, Lunati cams and lifters was ALL I used. I just used whatever lifter they had in their cam and lifter set. They had the wire retainers. I never had one single problem including the retainers popping out or wiped lobes. Not one. Course, that was back then. I don't know if you were asking for recent experience, but that's mine.

Not from experience, but I "hear" some folks are having problems with the lunati lifters they give you in their kit. I understand there aren't many lifter manufacturers, so I was just seeing what folks were using and having luck with matched to their lunati hyd FT cam.
