Old Mopar tough

It's been a while since I've been here. Been on B-body mostly. Now I'm back on my A-body. I've had my 69 Dart 440/727 for about 20 years. I bought it from an ex drag racer. It's got some go fast goodies and such. I've been on and off it for years. Last time it saw the road was 2014 (the only time) then it wouldn't start and I let it sit. Well I got the itch this year. The problem was the orange box. Bought a new one, changed the oil, drained the tank and put in fresh gas and it fired right up without starting fluid. I try telling these kids today how tough the old Mopars are. Been working on it here and there. Plugs, linkage, going for new tires tomorrow etc. Well my 13 year old grandson is with me today. I took him for a little ride. You should see his eyes wide open when I just get a little on the pedal. He says his heart is pumping and he loves it and wouldn't stop smiling. He's now going to help me take apart the column so I can replace the turn signal switch. I actually have some of the younger kids telling me not to paint it. They love the patina (It's scheduled to get the body done this winter). It's racing days are long over. It's just a fun ride now. Gotta teach the young ones.
