73 Dart. Spit bench seat with no armrest. This color was extremely popular on a lot of 73 Darts. I describe the color as tan / goldish brown color. Has anyone found this color seat covers available anywhere ?

I agree concerning costs. Everything has risen, as if things weren’t unaffordable as it was. Without getting too political. I do know, China rules this world. I don’t think people understand just how real this is. Long before any virus, long before any particular president. You could probably go back to the early 70’s. Progressed as years passed. I don’t see these things being reversible. The rich sold us all out and we are in too deep now.

Unless it’s black or white, all the other colours cost a bomb since the demand from them isn’t great. I paid a lot for mine (parchment) but Legendary covers are great and they were an exact match/replacement.

I realized they wouldn’t be cheap. But, damn $1200 for one damn cover ? Thats not gonna happen. I could understand one cover being an odd color ranging from 5-700 hundred. $1200 is beyond stupid. But, that’s Classic Industries for you. Everything about that company is a rip off. Down to their advertising gimicks, prices, etc.

WTF !!!!! $1200 for one bench seat cover ?
I think they are Legendary covers. And yes some colors are more than double the price of others. That's why I had a local upholstery shop do my light parchment metallic front seat. No, it doesn't have the metallic, but at the time at least Legendary said theirs wouldn't either...

No, $1200. You’re forgetting about your daddy. Uncle Sam.

How many peeps are ordering that colour upholstery 40+ yrs later? If you ran an upholstery business and only sold 5 covers of xyz colour each year and 1,500 covers of black, would you sell xyz colour for the same price as the black covers?

i am looking for the very same seat cover and color as you . with shipping , exchange rate and the tax it's works out to be 2400 bucks . i guess i will just use my tore up seat .

If you look at the pricing of the other available colors and styles, you will see that gold and a few select other colors are considerably more expensive and have been for some time.

Nothing to do with the politics.

For 1 cover or 2 ? My rear seat is mint. Front is very nice. With exception, I do have one 6 inch rip at the seem where you sit. You can see in my second picture where I recently attempted my first sew job. It should keep the rip from getting worst. Im sorry, I don’t care what your financial back ground is. No seat cover is worth $1200. At that price, there’s going to be a lot of guys attempting to sew for the first time. So, the average guy pays $2400 for 2 covers. Has to pay another guy an additional $2400 to put them on ? You now have two seat covers that cost 5 grand. Lol !

Those are sold in sets. Bench seat covers are the base and the back. My buddy does custom upholstery and said he could easily do what Legendary does but it would cost 3 times the amount. He charges $100/hour and worth it if you are building that kind of car.

If you’re saying it’s $1200 for a set of front and back seat covers. That’s reasonable. But, I don’t see that being the case. I found the back seat covers are listed separately at a little over $900 ?

No, the 2 covers for the front seat. # covers for 2 door cars) The seat base and the seat backs.

Front seat, split bench. The rear seat upholstery is extra.

Yeah, I understood that. That’s one cover to me, lol ! If someone pays that insane price. You would have to be beyond stupid to pay someone else to put them on. I’d be watching a lot of videos on Youtube, learning how to hog tie.

I had Joel put mine on. I would have it all screwed up if I tried. He also has all the jute, foam and all the rest to make it right.

It's a tough choice indeed. A lot depends on how much your vehicle is valued at (as a potential collectable). My Signet, in good condition, but needing dash pad, seat upholstery and carpets, is still marketable at $8000. (CDN). If I was to spend an extra $1500. to finish interior, value would likely only rise by $1000. So, choice no. 2 would be to sell car as-is and let new owner finish interior to his or her liking. On another hand, if I still had my '74 Duster 360/factory 4 spd., a $1500. investment for the interior could possibly add another $5000. to resale value.
