Grasshopper when you can walk upon the rice paper without leaving a footprint...
I got to say I am very very happy with my 3:55 gears...and I like what was mentioned before in doing the gears and the converter first and saying how much ground you got to make up with the cam LOL...
which ever pieces that show up here first is the order I'll install them. And I can tell you that I think ** Let me say it again, I think I might have a little something but will know for sure, maybe by tomorrow. I have a cheap box showing up that just might move me into 12.9's with what I have already. My little tinker has been tink'n LOL

Just a whim. But you know me, i always believe there is another tenth or two. Something clicked with me, which may not be anything, but again, just may be the ticket to a 12.9. I'll post once I know a little bit more, but right now I'll just leave it at that. Remember, there is always more.... :)

:D...

The Rhoads VMax lifters are adjustable from zero to a reduction of 20* of duration, all returned by 4K RPM. That's a lot of wiggle room for a larger camshaft with zero low RPM drawbacks. Just something to think about.

Every time you post I get more baffled...
simple, really. If it turns out to be noth'n, it won't matter. If i think i won, I'll post it. Anyways, hopefully they come tomorrow, or at least before Saturday.

Oh yeah what cam and lifters were you suggesting? What experience did you want to share with the OP? was that?...

Well, if you had actually read any of this thread instead of just jumping in and flaming people you'd know that the OP didn't ask for cam suggestions, he asked for lifter suggestions. He was already planning on a Lunati 10200703.

And back in post #146 I explained my experience with a Lunati 10200704, the lifters that came with that cam kit, and the Lunati Micro-trol's I've since replaced them with.

But hey, why read a thread when you can just jump in and stir the pot with a bunch of unrelated nonsense?

Nope...... none at all.

Well first, that comment was directed at jPar, which is why it was under his quote. And second, if you have relevant experience, how come you're in a monkey poo flinging contest about solid vs hydraulic lifters instead of answering the OP's question, which had nothing to do with solid lifters at all? Just so you could grace us with a single engine, two cam comparison thread from Hot Rod? If that's the best you can do, why shouldn't I just get all my info from Hot Rod? They're the ones that did the research you're claiming proves everything I need to know.

Post 167, 318will asks about the potential benefits of the solid lifters.
Post 170, I respond, and follow up with the HR article showing how it can play out.

if you have relevant experience
Post 238.

instead of answering the OP's question
Post 86

My point in general, and it's completely backed up by the fact that this thread has gone 11 pages and only has a handful of on topic replies, is that you guys are pushing the OP to build something other than what he wants.

You mean...... like where I said:

However...... I’m happy to follow along and see what you do, and where you end up.
And:
It’s your experiment...... we’re just along for the ride.

Your post 146......
If you had been running a solid cam, you wouldn’t have had that lifter failure.

Just sayin.

Monkey poo flinging contest... LOL...
Take a hard look in the mirror....
Certainly the Op has never been the first responder on one of my threads with a big chunk of monkey poo.......

How many times has 318 said if a thread stays on on topic for two pages he's more than pleased?..
Can 318 be any more transparent about what he's doing with his car and his goals? Would it not be unintelligent of us to take all of this into consideration almost no matter what question he asked? As some have pointed out it's the combination... Who said that?...

Hyd flat, Solid flat, Hyd roller, Solid roller, you pay your money and roll the dice....

I know 318will likes to make his own decisions(I’m the same way), so I rarely get too specific in his threads, but I like the 703 Voodoo cam/Rhodes lifter idea for what he’s trying to do.

I’ve never used either, but I think that approach has merit.

I'm 99% sure that is what I'll order.

What? WHAT???!!... THAT'S NOT ANSWERING THE OP'S ORIGINAL QUESTION!!!!....
STOP FLINGING POO!!!....

LOL...:D.

Remember to take the inner Springs out when you break the cam in..

Bahahaha....
I'm on borrowed time....... Way too many years of breaking in new cams without loosing one. My clock is ticking.... tick.. tick... tick... flat !
