What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Well changed out my mounts as I had the Schumacher poly ones in . Drove it for 3 days it just did my head in @ idle these would rattle your teeth mind you I had these in for 12 + months but when I started driving it a few days in a row enough was enough it really started to **** me so I changed them out for the full rubber , man these mounts were tall and was having trouble with the collector hitting the torsion bar As these were taller by 13 mm and in drive it did my head in got online and scored the narrow biscuit type mounts Absolute bliss quiet like a Merc no rattles But runs like a scalded cat. **** I must be getting old as I would have tolerated these solid mounts . So nice to drive I don’t know why I waited so long to change these out !

What were the mounts you had? Solid, or their polylocks?

Holy long sentence Batman!!!!!

Radio install. Not sure I will be able to actually hear it but I had to fill the hole and I had the extra radio.

Man, that looks really good. I just drooled.

Finished welding up the 3 1/2'' H pipe , into my dual 3 1/2'' , dumped exhaust system . Dont think it will be worth its weight, but got a heck of a deal on the h pipe kit !!

And the H-pipes make it sound so good.

Installed new dash pad from Dante's. While the dash was apart I painted the gauge needles and cleaned all the dash knobs. Until now I thought the knobs were patina - nope, just 50+ years of detritus. Replaced the original volt limiter with an RTE digital unit and cleaned up all the connections.

Original pad was nasty; was hidden under a dash covering since I bought the car

92F and humid... I washed several months of accumulated garage dust and gravel-road dirt off the Dart, since there is a car club cruise-in at the local Steak & Shake this evening. Still supposed to be 90+ too (and me without air conditioning)... will be interesting to see how many people with their cars show up anyway :)

Jeff

That makes me want to take a drive down to the pick-n-pull and grab a fan setup!

Let's see lots of pictures, this is fun stuff!

Trunk pan and extension needs replaced. I am not going to even bother with wire wheeling the left side. Lets see how the right side looks.

Rust looks minimal. Hope it cleans up without rot and holes.

Rough price projection for the sheetmetal do far;

$144 Left side trunk floor extension
LH / 1967-1969 BARRACUDA TRUNK FLOOR EXTENSION

$205 or $350 or $380 depending on the part for the trunk floor. Note the weight of the parts! 256 oz, 896 oz, 38 lbs. heh heh heh
1962-76 DODGE & PLYMOUTH A-BODY TRUNK FLOOR
1967-1976 DODGE & PLYMOUTH A-BODY COMPLETE TRUNK FLOOR (best quality)
http://www.autometaldirect.com/amd-trunk-floor-oe-style-p-1204.html

$80 Passenger floor pan
http://autobodyspecialt.com/rh-1967-76-dodge-plymouth-a-body-front-floor-pan-patch/

$245 or $269 rear valance
1967-1969 BARRACUDA STEEL REAR VALANCE (dual exhaust)
Rear Valances | AMD 960-1267-T

$127 right side rear quarter patch
RH / 1967-69 BARRACUDA REAR QUARTER-REAR SECTION

$245 right side rocker panel
RH / 1967-1969 BARRACUDA & 1970-1976 DUSTER / DEMON / DART SPORT OUTER ROCKER PANEL

For now, I think that's all I need in the sheet metal department.
Anywhere between $1046 and $1245 or so, plus tax and shipping. Figure around $1500 after all is said and done. I'm actually getting off lighter than I thought at first.

Other things other than bodywork that need fix that I can do regarding sheetmetal, there is a dent and tear in the floor pan under the driver's seat. easy enough to hammer into shape, drill the ends of the crack and weld up. Once upon a time, a fatty sat down there, real hard.

Will do....it's 104 out in the garage right now...
All I managed to do was clean up and get a little organized. ...
I'll tag you when I start my thread!

Went for a nice ride in Dawsonville and crossed paths with a red 69 Beep-Beep. first time in many months the car has exited the garage, and nice to find a fellow Mopar guy doing the same! We both had to pull over and chat a bit! The parking lot we stopped in had lot's of folks stopping to look!

I think I am getting soft!

No passenger side mirror no power steering and no back-up camera! Parallel parking is a bit challenging! I pulled it off but had some sweat beads for sure!

Oddly enough, I think the last time I had to do that was on a driving exam in 1980 and in a 69 Beep -Beep. It did have power steering though! Otherwise it has always been with dual mirrors and or back-up cams to assist!
