Help FABO 1969 Barracuda 318 What's it Worth

-
Maybe a bit higher knowing how well Dan cleaned everything. 10k -12.5k. Especially if someone is looking for that color, etc to remind them of one from back in the day.

Does it run and drive? I saw receipts for parts and machine work, but I did not see anything about whether the engine ran. It will, of course, be worth a LOT more if it runs and drives. My condolences. I have been there in the capacity of selling a car after an unexpected death. If you lived closer, I'd help with a thorough detailing to prep it for sale.

Bummer deal sad to read about teeth & tires. The barracuda looks pretty nice I like the 10-12k price range for it. Dustin

Just got off the phone with Dena. It runs and drives, the seats are out, Dan moved it while on milk crates! She also has shop equip, engine stands, engine crane, etc. getting pics.

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. You're a good man for helping his wife in her time of need.
I think she should ask 15k, she can always come down.
He put alot of work in the car, it was a piece of him and when it's gone she will lose that piece.
Don't let her give it away to the sharks.

It was an intense build thread, wasnt it? Many, many hours of work, totally agree.

A big "atta boy" to you for helping her out. Our survivors will all be there at some time. We should all start a diary with information about our cars, their values, and a lit and prices of the parts we own.

We always talk about diaries, but seldom follow through. That is a really good idea Mike.

I have been putting sticky notes in/on boxes so I can remember how much I have in a part. I would hate to buy a LD4B for $250 and sell it for $100 because I can't remember. CRS disease you know.:BangHead:

First of all, my condolences!

Finding the right price here is a bit complicated - you mentioned the car has to go. So I assume time to find the right buyer will play a role.

Looks like it has been partially repainted, but if all the panels are original, no patches, no previous accidents, no bondo under the paint, and interior in excellent shape, I would go way higher.
A buddy of mine and I are looking for a real survivor and I can tell there is not much out there. 318, 340, or BB - no matter, finding an unmolested Barracuda FB in excellent condition is not easy. For example, I insured my car for + $35000 (318, original paint) and no questions were asked.

In my opinion, online classic car evaluations are just numbers that do not always represent reality. Offering and demand determine the price.
Even with $30000 or more cash in your pocket - good luck finding a 50-year-old Barracuda FB survivor!
The same goes for parts, with plenty of time and cash in your pocket - good luck finding a rust-free hood, trunk lid, fenders, or front panel.
Those cars and parts are not getting more.

Also, look outside the borders of the USA, Abodies in the States may have been ridiculed and often mistreated, but in Europe or elsewhere in the world those cars might get more appreciation. Everybody can do with their cars whatever they want, but those guys who welded half oil barrels over the rear axles might one day regret having destroyed a piece of American Car History.

A good car, with a properly written sale ad (extensive description of the car and a lot of detailed pictures), can and will attract buyers, also outside the US.

I also think of the price development of Mustang FBs in the last years, and they have been produced in higher numbers.

My best,
Wolfgang
