I’m removing my transmission and it seems to pull it out with the motor it will run into a part of the chassis that forms the transmission tunnel. It’s a a 76 duster with a floor shifter a/833 with od in

I am not a fan of pulling a transmission out with the engine, too many possible ways to dent the engine bay.

I drop the trans out the bottom then pull the engine.

Remove the shifter, handle and linkage, then the rear cross member.

I made a support jig to support A-230 3-speeds with my jack, it works awesome.

Damn those transmissions are heavy! (duty) LOL

Two bolts and three nuts????

Even if the stick is removable, it leaves the socket for the stick sticking up to catch on every damn thing including the pan seam and wiring 'n such.

Drop the cross member first, then you can use a impact/ratchet to undo the 2 shifter mount bolts, - leave shifter and linkages hang, - or wire them up, - leave boot on, to keep critters out.
