I’ve got a 225 slant six that needs to get some new spark plug wires. What do you all recommend for me?

There are many plugs wire sets out there !! I have used some of them !! My favorite by far is a Taylor wire ! I bought them from Summit Racing !! Mine were for a 440 ! Good luck Sir

Livewires, magnacore make ready to install and besides stock wires you might have to make your own.

Yes Sir ! The 440 Taylor’s were already made up wires also !! The fitmeant of the Taylor wires was outstanding !! Just my 2 cents ! Good luck Sir

I found a previous thread on the same topic but there didn’t seem to be closure. I read Slant Six Dan said to stay away from Napa Belden wires.

Theres just not much in the aftermarket for slant wires. Making a set is the best choice in my opinion. Ive got a set of universal taylors on my desk im gonna put together soon.

Dan said he prefers not to use the Napa wires due to their carbon strand construction. Carbon strand is the construction of the factory wires, there's nothing wrong with it unless you're a snob. Yes, you can spend more for "racing" wires. They may even last longer than the stock type. For my money I like either the Napa wires or NOS Mopar wires with the dust boots on them. Just change them as needed, they're not intended to last forever...

Ok, I know the carbon wires are not bad, but it seems he takes issue with the Napa ones some how. I know they’re not meant to last forever, no one said the would.

Here's what Dan said:

"Get Magnecor or Aurora wires, and if you want the plug tube cover caps, buy six NAPA Belden 720201, "Spark Plug Cover". I would not buy NAPA plug wires; I'm not into carbon string."

Now the 720201 caps have been discontinued for years. You won't catch me running Magnecor or Aurora wires. To each their own...

He has a issue and is over opinionated about everything, take it at your own face valve and use your own best judgement & discretion when buying parts. Good Luck

Come on guys !! There are many good wires out there ! My favorite is the Taylors !! I like the way they look and fit and perform ! They did it for me !! But someone else may have had the same experience with Auto Zone specials 9.95 !! The point being state the wires you like and move on guys !! Don’t be bad mouthing someone else wires ! We are all creatures of habit ! What ever worked well for us at the time we tend to go back to that same thing !! If that is Auto Zone specials on 8 sec 1/4 car than it is what is guys !! I wouldn’t try that !! But the next guy may !! Not all of us have a lot a money to spend ! Some do ! I enjoy the form ! I’ve learned a lot on here in a short period of time !! But I have a lot of knowledge ! But I durn sure don’t know it all !! I’ve noticed some on here that think they know a lot ! That don’t !! I’ve also noticed those on here that you may never know what all they know cause they ain’t tellin!! But all in all let’s all help each other !! Thanks guys Rodney

There are a few options, plenty of places that will custom make a set, some that offer universal kits, I have a lead on an NOS Mopar set, and I can see what I can come up with through Napa.

i have the live wires , they are REALLLLLY nice ...too nice and expensive. but i like them

I ran Whitaker solid core plug wires on my old stuff. I guess they were somewhat popular because I found them quite often in the local pick and pulls and they lasted. If radio interference is an issue, run a carbon core coil wire and swap it out once a year or so. The solid core wires always showed little to 0 ohms when a suppressor wire would get on up there....but don't know if those old Whitakers are even still available.
