Yep, I wanted to resurrect this because I might have found a cure, at least it worked for mine.
I had the problem of the white lettering being a brownish tint, some more than others. I naturally scrubbed myself to death with 409 and other things, still looked like a tar stain or something.
I was cleaning my windshield rubber for the dart with brake fluid before reinstall glass...…… turned around and scrubbed the white letters with it, and, presto! white letters as you would expect just thought I bring it back up and pass it on.
