HOLY BARN FIND!!!

Hopefully whomever is helping her does it right. I can only think of one elderly person I know personally who has no ties at any level to the internet. But that's my perspective....

Just recently I went to go look at an issue for a friends mom's car in her garage. In that garage sitting in the corner was an old BMX bike. We spent more time talking about the bike than I did fixing the loose battery connection on the car.... It was on her list to let Goodwill have it. It's an all original Mongoose from the 70's. Not a $5.00 bike.

Something like this BMX I can easily see slipping through the cracks. But an old Mustang I don't. The word Mustang is known worldwide just like the name Michael Jackson.

However it ends I just hope she was treated fairly...

For the effort and people the widow has already got involved, it proves she knows these are not $4000 cars. She knows they have high value.

She is not ripping the band aid off.

It's not about whether these are $4000 or $80,000 cars. It's about $80K or $100K or $60K. Roughly times that by FOUR.

Take your Mongoose BMX example. This seller already knows it's not a $5.00 bike. There are Mongoose's like that for sale for $250. Some E-bay and online sellers have "dreamer" advertised prices. But actual selling price is rarely listed to look back on. Many bikes are sold in person at BMX swap meets, not online too.

In the case of these cars... They are not a relatively high production 80's Mongoose or Rolex. They only made 171 1971 Hemi Challenger’s. This is more like early 24" Skyway or '74 Redline or Rolex once owned by a famous person.

Much much harder to find comparable actual sales. And much higher restoration cost.

Also, its about percentages. That Mongoose BMX bike example. You might find some sell for $210, $250, $290 +/- 15%. $40 buck swing... no big deal.

Now on $200K worth (conservative) of cars that’s a $60K swing in sale price.

Would you pay someone $20K to net you $40K ??
