How to cut throttle cable

small block 4bbl's have the shortest cable. But your 318 cable will work. Y

If your intake is a lot higher like mine was you'll have to make a bracket . The cables all have the same pull distance it is the total length that is long and short. Remember there is a mopar bracket that is needed for all non factory carburetors, it bolts tho the carb. The throw on all mopars is the same so the cable just has to reach the bracket. You need a cable if it doesn't reach the clamp. You need to find the 4bbl bracket that bolts on with the intake. The 2bbl braket puts the cable clamp to far back from the carb. and to far to the right. Here is a 2bbl vs 4bbl.

Like I said no matter how short or long the total length is they all have the same throw pull distance. You are looking for the orange intake bracket Pictured below for a standard to medium intake. the blue set up is 2 bbl. Note how far the cable clamp is moved forward and stood up for 4 bbl. to move it out for the width of the carb.
