Summit Racing Stores Now Require Masks

-
Ok this has been said over and over again for the last four months. You wear your mask for me and I wear my mask for you. The idea behind it is people spit when they talk and spit flys out when you sneeze. That’s the idea behind wearing a mask is to cut down on this. Don’t worry guys, I will wear my mask to protect YOU. A lot of you guys are to selfish to think about others.

Here in Idaho masks are not required and it's pretty much business as usual though restaurants and bars are being cautious with social distancing. That said, I generally wear a mask when I am in a store. Surprisingly, I was at Home Depot yesterday and masks were not required though I thought I read that it was a corporate directive that masks are mandatory.

I just can't get around the stupidity of it all

I went into a Dennys the other day, and they wouldn't seat us without a mask
So the hostess grabbed a few masks and we put them on
Then she lead us 9 feet to our table, where we were allowed to take them off again

You think that's stupid?
Listen to this...
I got a dentist appointment tomorrow
They just informed me of their "safety protocol"

I will walk in, get scanned for a fever and walk in
Then I will say hi to the desk girl, who will give me a mask

With this mask on, we will walk into a room where I will then lay for 45 minutes with my mouth wide open

No one knows whether or not They are carrying the Virus, therefore it is disrespectful to those around You, if You don't wear a mask. -- I believe that enough people have died, unnecessarily. -- Perhaps the numbers are inflated, but too many people are dying. -- Please respect others. -- Some don't believe in seat belts, but they, also, save lives.

ive gotten into 2 altercations this week alone, with nazis who think it is their place to enforce this mask rule
apart from the fact that it is stupid and a mask does nothing, what would possess someone to give lip to a complete stranger about wearing a mask?
they are wearing one, doesnt it work ?

its kinda funny, people always wondered how all these germans allowed to let the nazi regime take over and not stand up to it, but now im seeing first hand how people will gladly point out those of us who do not comply and wear the little piece of cloth

If wearing a mask would help protect your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, sister or brother instead of just us would it change your mind. Stop thinking only about yourself.

Since mask wearing is seemingly soooooo political.....plus the fact that a lot of people just don't get it….

I've been focusing more on my "social distancing" measures. It's been my personal experience that the regular consumption of eggs, Mexican food, and raisin bran takes all the politics of the situation completely out of the picture!!!!

Mask...or no mask....I end up with at LEAST six feet of distance between me and next closest pair of nostrils.

I stay at home as much as possible, however my wife works at the largest hospital in our county. So she could easily be a carrier. We just all have to be safe.

Only flaw in that logic is that my elderly mother in law lives with us
In fact, the age range at my house runs from 2 to 80

It's not a selfish issue, its a mather of not wanting to give up freedoms in order to get perceived safety

You know I am going to die some day right?

I can see this isn’t going to sink in so I’m wasting time trying to explain it to you. Goodluck

Don't live near the summit stores. Wouldn't go in them if they are gonna stick to the rule..... Their business, their rules....

I must not have gotten the right memo. Pretty sure I saw and continually see groups of people not only having no face protection, but also no social distancing..... Dragstrips included....

Just stay home. That's my angle. It sure beats wearing a mask out that they can't decide as to if it matters or not based on which politician can bash the other or which group wants to hate more. It's not like they really give a crap about anyone personally. Unless it lines their own pockets or aligns with their agenda. Let's see what happens after the election!

Nailed it!

I have to wear a mask at work and we've been pretty good until this week 2 employees tested positive because they were at big family gatherings, one of the guy's thought it was ok to come back to work while waiting for his results now his shared cubicle buddy and a supervisor had to be tested.

What I'm getting at is it's not only one person now the his coworker and family are having to deal with someone who was irresponsible.

I wear my mask in public. I just never know when I may have the uncontrollable urge to rob a liquor store.
There are cultures in the civilized world that wear masks on a daily basis to protect themselves from the industrial pollutants their neighbors are puking into the atmosphere. 15 minutes with a mask once or twice per day? What's the big deal? I feel as claustrophobic in it as the next guy.

so you might get a virus with a 99.7% percent survival rate
Big deal

I've gotten sicker from eating taco bell then the average course of this virus

In the mean time, I took this photo today at what is obviously my favorite hardware store

But it sure sucks if you or your loved ones are unlikely enough to fall into that. 03% though.

I lost 2 coworkers and long time friends to it in the last 3 weeks. One in IL the other in GA.

Guess I'm just not calloused enough to not at least make an effort minimize the chance of passing it along to someone else's family and friends.

But hey, you do you man.

-- Agree -- and -- For all who are anti-mask, tell Your story to the Families of 146,295 People who have died, in The US. -- I'm sure that those numbers may be inflated, but even if they are wrong by 50%, that's too many deaths.

You truly can't be dumb enough to think your 80 yr old mother in law has a 99.7% chance of surviving COVID, are you?
why, you ready to start discussing co-morbidities?

i also know if she and i were to get in a car accident her chances of surviving are less then mine
does that mean i should lock her up in the house?

wanna know a secret?
she is going to die
its gonna happen sooner or later

the question is, is she going to spend her last days enjoying life?
or is she going to spend them cowering in a dark room scared of her own shadow?

see, thats where this whole thing gets off track
people are fed false numbers by those who have an agenda and they swallow it, hook line and sinker
getting the virus isnt bad
its like the flu, only less deadly
people die from the flu, sure, but we dont cower in fear for it
we dont kill our economy over a case of the sniffles

i was on a plane two days ago, coming home from vacation and i saw a couple wearing rainsuits
full on rainsuits

think that is healthy?

just wash your hands, cover your cough, things will be jut fine

I'll leave this right here......

you bring up an interesting point
if (IF) this was such a deadly virus, and our masks are filled with this deadly virus, why arent there any biohazard receptacles around to put them in?
