Difference in Early and Late dual exhaust?

Anyone know what the main differences are between the early and late dual exhaust? Other than modifying the trans mount, would a late A dual exhaust bolt up to and Early? or easily modified to work?
 
64 Valiant with a 273/904 want to go to 2.5" dual exhaust with stock manifolds. I know I can order new from TTI for $800, but have seen good used exhaust systems for sale but for 67 up A's
 
67 is a weird animal; actually different from 68-up if you want it to fit right due to the different fuel tank hanger arrangement. Don't know how a 64 compares to that. I suspect your best bet would be to go to your local exhaust guy (not Midas — the hole in the wall place the local motorheads use) and have him fab up a dual system. Pretty sure it would be cheaper than $800.
