Rusty leaf spring attachment to frame

The leaf springs on my 1966 Valiant 200 attach at the rear to metal boxes on the main frame that are just about completely rusted out. Any ideas on how to repair or strengthen the attachment points? I'm going to check with a welder about fabricating new boxes and welding the to the frame.
 
You might check with AMD. I believe they show them in their catalog, but, last time I checked, they were out of stock.
